For the most part of the past study about the generating transformation of Buddhism in China were under the historical perspective. Fewer researchers know that macrocosm can be contained in the micro level, so studies about the Buddhist are always be neglected. The Buddhists always says that "Sumeru Mountain can be contained into the mustard". The Macro process of the generating transformation of Buddhism in China can reflect in the group of Buddhists. The key to understand the generating transformation of Buddhism in China is to know the media between the two kinds of cultures, which are the Buddhists. As the link between past and future, as the acceleration period of the generating transformation of Buddhism in China, I chose Tang Dynasty as the historical background for my paper. Under this background, I study the Buddhists related to the Confucianism and analyze the Buddhists’ role in the generating transformation of Buddhism in China in terms of cultural communication studies. This is the key point of my paper. The first chapter discusses the features of the communication of Buddhism in Tang Dynasty. Biographical study of the Buddhists will be discussed in the second chapter and many features of the Buddhists related to the Confucianism will be summarized. The last chapter, I will study the Buddhists’ media role in the process of the generating transformation of Buddhism in China by the methods of cultural communication study. And I find that the invention of the art of printing was at the same time with the time of the combination of three religions, so the new media technology played an important role in the formation of Chinese culture. In my opinion, three levels can be divided in the process of the generating transformation of Buddhism in China, the separation of the encoder and decoder, the unifying of two parts in the Buddhist, and separated again. The last two levels are the research priorities in my paper. The unifying of the two roles in the Buddhists fermented the generating transformation of Buddhism in China. So the media role the Buddhists played is the key to study the generating transformation of Buddhism in China. The macro is in the micro and the latter shows the former.
