The study of minority nationalities in Heluo area is one of the important topics ofHeluo culture research. Wei-Jin, Southern&Northern Dynasties periods is animportant historical period of disruption, major transformation as well as the nationalintegration in Chinese history. Heluo region is the center of the national convergenceof the period. Research on minority nationalities of Heluo in this period can contributeto restore the thread of national development of Heluo area and enrich Heluo culture. In the face of the increasingly complex national relations, Han rulers of Heluoregion of the Wei and Jin Dynasties adopted a series of national policies, includingconquering and appeasing, haltering, differentiation, hostages and subjection, whichpromoted the gathering of minorities towards Heluo region and its surrounding. In thisperiod, the former Zhao (Hun), the latter Zhao (karma), the former Yan (Xianbei),Qin (Di), later Qin (Qiang) and Zhai Wei (DingLing) and other minorities establishedtheir own regime in succession and controlled the Heluo region. According to thecomplex ethnic relations between Hu and Han in Heluo region, each Hu nationalityruler adopted some national policies, such as, ruling Hu and Han separately andappeasing which had a positive effect. Under the influence of national policies andother factors, such as natural, political, economic, cultural and military effects, theminorities congregated gradually to Heluo region and its surrounding both activelyand passively. The integration of ethnic minorities has an important effect on both the Heluoregion and minorities themseleves. During this period, the localization of Han to Huand Hu to Han went on simultaneously.Under the influence of Han nationality, thepolitical system, national economy, ideology and culture of ethnic minorities are moreor less localized by Han; Under the influence of ethnic minorities, many aspects ofculture and social life in Heluo area showed Hu characteristics.
