The issue of minority nationalities in He and Luo area is an important part in the research on He and Luo culture,while Sui and Tang dynasties are an exotic flower in chinese history.The research on minority nationalities in He and Luo area can not only enrich the connotation of He and Luo culture,but also enlarge the view of the research on He and Luo culture,therefore the research is of great significance.He and Luo area lies in the central part of China,and it is recorded that three dynasties ever settle down in He and Luo area in ancient China. From time immemorial, He and Luo area is one of the birthplaces of chinese civilization. During the Sui andTang dynasties,the ruling class pays attention to the construction of He and Luo area.On the one hand, the traffic network gets strengthened;on the other hand, the urban infrastructure gets consummated.They also develop the cause of cultural education in order to enrich the cultural connotation of He and Luo area.In addition, the ruling class unveils plenty of preferential policies.For example,in the economic aspect, rulers offer a variety of preferential policies to attract minority nationalities to do business and trade; politically,many measures in policy are unveiled to guarantee their interests; in social life,they carry out freer policies, due to which minority nationalities in surrounding area are promoted to come to He and Luo area. Under the stimulation of various factors alltogether, inland migration in succession takes place among minority nationalities in surrounding area,including chiefs of minority nationalities who are engaged in political activities, envoys, hostages of imperial court, merchants and travellers who take up business activities,and some minority's monks or missionaries who embark upon religious activities as well. Otherwise, there come the minority nationalities,such as ethnic putschists, refugees, reluctant immigrants, prisoners of war or handicraftsmen and craftsmen from the minorities as well.They together constitute main ways of minority nationalities'inland migration to He and Luo area.Large quantities of minority nationalities'inland migration not only increases ethnic composition of He and Luo area,but also brings external culture of special features,which,as a consequence, impels a distinct tendency to hu's abounding in He and Luo area.This paper attempts to discuss the influence that minority nationalities have on He and Luo area from the respects of social customs, religious beliefs and ethnic conceptions,in order to straighten out the common development course with multiracial and multicultural characteristics in the mutual conflict and merging in He and Luo area,and to endeavour to fully revert the true face of minority nationalities in He and Luo area during Sui and Tang dynasties.
