Vocational Interest Inventory Probe Brief Version (IP-48-B) Of The Preliminary Amendment

My study is designed to revise the set B of48-item Interest Profile(IP-48-B).1714students from two colleges of Anhui Province and Jiangsu Province are included in the study, and we have obtained the final version of the set B of48-item Interest Profile(IP-48-B). The results of the study are as followings:(1) The items. The formal48-item scale includes6factors, each one of which contains8items, and a five-point Likert-type response format is used. In my study,14items from the scale are revised.(2) Reliability analysis. The internal-consistency reliability of the whole scale is0.895and turns to be0.911in the2-week test-retest; the internal-consistency reliability of6factors ranges from0.733to0.865and turned to be between0.774and0.911in the2-week test-retest.(3) Validity analysis. The validity of the scale is proved to be good after the overall inspection of content validity, structural validity and criterion validity.Content validity:The content of scale is judged by psychological experts to ensure the content validity.Structural validity:The structural validity is examined by exploratory factor analysis, correspondence index and congruent validity. The results show that KMO of the scale is0.877; Bartlett test of sphericity value is3503.744(p=0.000); Six factors are extracted which contributed up to46.218%of the total variance, and all of the items are in the presumed dimension,the loading of which is between0.402and0.762.The correspondence index is0.861which means93.1%of the data support the prediction; the correlation between IP-B-48and Entrance Examination Center Interest Scale of Taiwan is0.618～0.786.Criterion validity:The criterion validity is examined by testing the criterion of the degree of satisfaction, discrimination of each factor and hit rate.The results show that the correlation coefficient Φ between congruence and the degree of satisfaction is0.562and P is0.02, reaching the significant level; The participators of each type get highest score on corresponding scale and the difference between the score of the participators who are congruent with the type and the participators who are not is significant; The hit rate of participator in each type ranges from41.3%～57.7%and the total hit rate is49.9%which is much higher than the random hit rate17%. The results above show that the criterion validity is good. (4) The norms establishing. The norms of collectivity and type of profession are established for college students in Tongling City.
