Research On The Self-shaping Image In Zhang Ling's Novels

In recent years, more and more overseas immigrant writers have been paid more attention to. Zhang Ling with the remarkable achievements of literary creation, becomes the representative writer of new immigrant literature in North America.Zhang Ling,Yan Geling and Hong Ying are called the "three carriages"of overseas Chinese women writers and many investigators favor them. Her novels are famous for open cultural vision, rich connotation, exquisite and accurate language,which are widely praised. From the perspective of cross-cultural context, the author makes an analysis of the cultural identity, female consciousness and narrative skills. This paper tries to study the self -shaping image of Zhang Ling 's novels from the perspective of image theory, and then analyzes the appearance, formation and creation of the Chinese image.The article is divided into three chapters, first chapter from home stereo writing to grasp the whole Chinese image and study it in the homeland and foreign interaction ; the second chapter is mainly about China overseas immigrants , and summed up the concept of cultural identity from Zhang Ling; the third chapter is from the view of history and cross-cultural context to examine the Chinese image.On the whole, Zhang Ling's self-shaping image includes the writer's efforts to trace back to the tradition, to revalue the history, to explore the self, to pay attention to the human nature and to construct a new cultural living space. Because of her unique vision, the Chinese image in her novels is a supplement and amendment to the traditional image of China.
