The compound word teaching of TCSL make much progress in recent years, but at the same time we find out there are also many things need to be improved at the lexical teaching of TCSL. For example, we don’t show students the character meaning, consider of the formative and explain morpheme and word-building when we have a class of the lexical teaching of TCSL. The new words from textbook are mostly translated by word to word, the lexical teaching completely use the western linguistic theory. Therefore, the feature of themselves for the Chinese characters is neglected and the western modern linguistics is not completed proper for TCSL. The "character-oriented" theory play an important role in TCSL. Morpheme teaching mobilizes subjective activity of students. This paper points out the rationale for the Chinese compound words teaching from linguistic ontology study and comparing the compound words between English and Chinese. A result got about revealing Chinese linguistic rule itself through comparing the structure features of words between English and Chinese, therefore, we can have a deeper understanding to the lexical teaching of TCSL. Therefore, the paper proof the morpheme teaching is more proper for the TCSL teaching rule and enhance the effect of TCSL comparing with "words-oriented" through the basic theory of Chinese lexicology, and the motivated contrast of Chinese and English compound words.It mainly introduces in the Introduction part that the research purpose, the research significance, the research methods applied in this paper and the literature review about compound words between English and Chinese. In Chapter One, it introduces and analyzes the common points and different points of compound words between English and Chinese from the word-formation’s part. In Chapter Two, according to the different points of compound words between English and Chinese from the word-formation’s part, we can get the conclusion that Chinese morpheme meanings is really important, therefore, this chapter mainly analyzes that the word formation relationship between the morpheme meanings and word meaning of Chinese compound words. In Chapter Three, we can know the importance of morpheme teaching in Chinese words teaching of TCSL from compound word comparison in English and Chinese, and the writer offer some proposals in this paper about compound words teaching of TCSL from this part. The Conclusion part makes conclusion of the researches in this paper, and puts forward the innovations and deficiencies of this paper.
