Chinese characters teaching is the most important but also the most difficult task of foreign Chinese teaching. Moreover, most foreign students reflected that Chinese characters teaching is the hardest job they have met during their learning. For a non-native student of Chinese language, it is an enormous challenge to learn a language having nothing in common with their native language. According to the corpus of Filipino students, it is observed that Chinese writing errors are widespread existed among the corpus. In addition, it is found by analysis that the mistakes of stroke, component and struck have some universal characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct the comprehensive analysis of the Chinese writing errors.The corpus includes the homework, examination papers and dictation papers of students in Confucius Institute in Bulacan State University from grade one to grade three, and the analysis of the corpus tries to find the reason of Chinese writing errors. The research achievement can be applied to the Chinese characters teaching of Filipino students.This thesis is organized as follows. Section1introduces the research objective and significance. Section2gives a detailed description of the object of research, the source of corpus, and the theoretical foundation of this work. The analysis of the corpus is presented in Section3. Section4presents the teaching strategy of Chinese characters acquisition, and also gives a lesson plans. Finally, Section5concludes this thesis, and makes prospects of our research.This thesis anylizes the phenomenon of the mistake of Chinese characters from the subjective and objective aspects, and then gives the teaching strategy of Chinese characters teaching. The rearch goal can be used for Chinese characters teaching of Filipino students.
