On The Cello In Psychology And Aesthetic Consciousness

The word Psychology, coming from the Greek, means a science of the Soul. InGreek, soul also means gas or breath, because ancient people thought life isdependent on breath, breathing stops, the life is over. With the development ofscience, the object of psychology is of the mind instead of soul, becoming ascience to study the human and animal psychological phenomenon, includingits occurrence, development and behavior law. As an edge discipline,psychology studies both animals and human psychology, the latter is the mainobject of study. So in general, psychology is a science that studiespsychological phenomenon and psychological pattern (2). Psychologyinvolved widely, its main research relates to many fields of cognitive, emotion,perception, personality, behavior, and interpersonal relationships, also tomany areas of everyday life i.e. family, education, health and others. In themusical performance, performing psychology plays a very important role. Fora smooth, successful music performance, the performing psychology couldmake up a significant proportion as to get the audience’s favorite andaffirmation.Aesthetic feeling is the feeling of beauty or experience, i.e. the individualsubjective reactions to, the feeling of beauty, appreciation and evaluation inaesthetic activities. People have different levels of the aesthetic awarenessand aesthetic ability, which is not innate, but produced and developed in thesocial practice. People of different age, class, nation and region, will havedifferent aesthetic consciousness and experience, and there is alsodifferences in aesthetic consciousness between individual due to differentpersonality characteristics and cultural accomplishment. Musical aestheticsbelongs to a branch of aesthetics and aesthetic awareness is a part of musicalaesthetics. Aesthetic awareness could make the music performance attractmore audience in the actual playing, fully understand the beauty of music andaesthetic and can let the audience and performers have more resonance,thereby showing the charm of music with strong infectivity.Cello is recognized to be one of the most close to vocal musical instruments.There are some similarities between the cello player and other instrumentsplayers in the performance psychology, but because of some characteristicsunique to this instrument, thus having its particularity in the performancepsychology and the aesthetic awareness of music. This paper attempts in theCello Teaching in these two aspects to do some exploration.
