This study through the tracking study of56infants a year to discuss the relationship between Initiative Joint Attention of14months and their executive function and imitate ability when they were24month-old. According to, the latest research of Karin T.Beuker (2012), initiative we separate the Initiative Joint Attention into IJA (proto declarative joint attention) and IBR(proto imperative joint attention). The non-verbal communication program was used for testing the Initiative Joint Attention. Based on predecessors’ tasks, we reorganized four Executive Function tasks to measure24months children’s responses inhibition,shifting/switching of mental setsupdating of working memory representations, three main ingredients of EF. infants’ social competence (aged24months old) were measured by mothers fill the Infant-toddler social and emotional assessment (ITSEA), the results show that:1.There is no gender difference in Initiative Joint Attention(14months old) and EF(24months old). Gender differences exist in Imitation (24months old), and the girls’ performance are better than boys’.2. Initiative Joint Attention(14months old) specificity closely related to EF(24months old). Hi-IBR, Hi-IJA, IJA have significant positive correlation wtin responses inhibition tasks, Low-IBR IJA, IJA and Initiative Joint Attention(IBR+IJA) related to the performance of shape stroop task.Only the Hi-IBR could significantly predict the performance of responses inhibition in24months. IBR+IJA can significantly predict children in shape stroop task performance.3. Low-the IBR, IBR,IBR+IJA have positive relation with imitate in24months. Only Initiative Joint Attention(IBR+IJA) could significantly predict imitate in24months.4.EF could not effect the relationship between Initiative Joint Attention and Imitation. Thus, we can conclude that Initiative Joint Attention(14months old) specificity closely related to EF(24months old),and EF could not effect the relationship between Initiative Joint Attention and Imitation.
