With the serious problem of aging, the urban elderly in China is facing the greatchallenge. Firstly, although the family pension can give the elderly love, relyingsolely on the family pension may not satisfy the elderly because of the small tendencyof family members, the empty nest of the family structure and the working pressure ofthe children. Secondly, institutions pension can provide professional services for theelderly. However the traditional ideas, parents’ emotional alienation and the highpension institutions threshold make the institutions pension is not the first choice formost of the families. Therefore, it is extremely urgent to explore a new model ofhome-based care services for urban elderly, which can meet their requirements. Thethesis takes the serious situation of the aging as the background, and takes the QNcommunity in Beijing as the research object. Meanwhile, the thesis uses such methodsas in-depth interviews, literature analysis and field observation to master thecircumstance of QN community. Through the study of the evolution and thedevelopment of pension service of QN community and the internal characteristics ofthe community, the author clarifies the problems impeding the development ofpension service. In that case, basing on the original model, the author constructs anew model of networking home-based care services for the urban elderly, which canavoid the limitations and can take advantage of communities. Therefore, the newmodel can lay the foundation for all of the urban in China.
