The development of Chinese population showing trends of aging and the emptynest,the impact of population aging in China has become increasingly evident. Howto handle this aging problem has been written into China’s“12th Five-Year Plan”,China has always attached great importance to the important role of the family in thepension,but with the development of the industrial economy,population mobilityenhancements,and changes in people’s attitudes,family function and structure alreadyhas undergone tremendous changes.In this paper,use the data of “situation of China’s urban and rural elderlypopulation tracking survey in2010”,investigate the intergenerational support statusbetween the children and parents in Beijing empty-nest families. With the help ofspss17.0software,select the three aspects of economic support,life care andemotional comfort,and expound what kind of intergenerational be supplied fromchildren; Meanwhile,compare empty-nesters and non-empty nesters to see whetherthere is a difference,and what difference. The results found that: in terms of economicsupport for Beijing empty-nest,elderly population intergenerational interaction is notmuch,and there is no significant difference between the empty nest and non-emptynesters;In the life care aspects,most of the empty-nest elderly population in Beijingcan get the help of the children when it needed,but the proportion is less than thenon-empty-nest elderly; As for the emotional comfort, there is no significantdifference between empty-nest elderly population and non-empty nesters in Beijing.
