Cultural Soft Power Building And Safety Studies Of Ideology

Culture is emerging as an important part of the country’s comprehensive competitiveness in today’s world. It can be said, whichever nation can occupy the commanding heights of culture will be able to grasp the initiative in the the fierce international competition. For more than thirty years of reform and opening up, China has been leading other developing countries for investment inflow. But at the same time, the pace of development of China’s cultural soft power is obviously lagging behind, which to a certain extent restricts the upgrading of China’s comprehensive national strength. The times call for the enhancement of the cultural soft power.At present,in the context of globalization, the us-led western developed countries have been implementing multifaceted cultural invasion against China and other socialist countries, in order to achieve its strategic scheme of "peaceful evolution"."Soft power" has become a new means of penetration of the Western ideology.In the domestic, China is in a critical period of social transformation, people’s ideological activities more active than ever, values have also shown a trend of diversity.The identity of the people on the mainstream ideology is declining. Therefore, after the17th national congress put forward the concept of "cultural soft power",the sixth Plenary Session of the17th CPC Central Committee called for precisely mastering the new demands of new trends in cultural development and new expectations for the spiritual and cultural lives of Chinese people from all ethnic groups in a bid to "work hard to open up a new situation in the country’s socialist cultural development,and strive to develope a strong socialist culture in China".Subsequently,the18th Party Congress also stressed that we must adhere to the goal of advancing socialist culture and strive to meet the grand goal of developing a strong socialist culture in China. This series of new theses accord with the new trend of development in the present era.The strategic thinking of improving the national cultural soft power is not fabricated,but rooted in the traditional Chinese culture.It has formed on the basis of the continuation and development of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and the system of theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Improving the national cultural soft power is conducive to the maintenance of ideological security.At present, China has made remarkable achievements, but also faces many challenges, such as the modernization of traditional culture,the systemic barriers restricting the development of culture. So, we must be keenly aware that there is still much room for improvement in our work. Firstly, we should have a comprehensive understanding of traditional Chinese culture,keep its essence and discard its dross. Secondly, we should build up the system of socialist core values and make socialist ideology more attractive and cohesive.Thirdly, we should stimulate cultural innovation and enhance the vitality of cultural development.
