With the rapid development of economic globalization and informationtechnology today,In the international community, limitations of the traditional hardpower such as military and economic resources(the ability to force others to changetheir will or behavior by threat or lure)in the international political competition aregradually highlight, the role and influence of soft power to achieve the nationalinterests purpose through the attraction and appeal of values, lifestyles and socialsystems is rising.The culture field has become the main battlefield of the internationalpolitical contest in the international community, various countries take enhancing theculture soft power as an important part of the competition of comprehensive nationalstrength.Eighteen report noted,to build a moderately prosperous society and toachieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, we must promote thedevelopment and prosperity of socialist culture,rise a new upsurge in socialist culturalconstruction,enhance national cultural soft power, play culture’s role of leadingfashion,educating the people,serving the society and promoting the the development。According to Nye’s soft power theory,online games as a form of cultural carriers to acertain extent play the role of soft power,because it implies a country’s culture systemand ideology.From the current situation of the production and operation of onlinegames at home and abroad, many countries recognize that the development of onlinegames will not only bring economic benefits, and it also can influence the youngplayer’s outlook on life, values and worldview to some extent by carrying a country’scultural system and ideology, therefore, the Among them, United States, South Korea,Japan, and the European Union member states are actively involved in thiscompetition with the double meaning of the economic and cultural. online gamesbecome a new carrier, a new platform of national cultural soft power competition. InChina, on the one hand, the influence on young players from the entry of foreignonline games brings the threats and challenges to our socialist core values-orientedmainstream culture security. On the other hand, our own developed online games arenot contain the socialist core values, can not bring a positive outlook on life andworldview to the young people,due to the disadvantage of technology developmentand attraction, domestic online games have no competitive advantage in the domesticmarkets or overseas market, did not play a role to enhance China’s cultural soft power.From the development process of the world history, cultural soft power is an important force to allow a country to maintain the vitality or leadership.Therefore, thispaper takes online games and China’s cultural soft power promotion as title,learnform the experience of foreign cultural soft power promotion and enhance the softpower of culture as well as through online games by the method of literatureresearch,using empirical research methods at the same time,to sort out the currentproblems of online games in enhancing China’s cultural soft power,then proposecountermeasures to enhance China’s cultural soft power through the online games,toprovide a reference for the formulation of China’s cultural soft power strategy.
