| In recent years, with the further development of the internet and the rapiddevelopment of the new media, internet rumors increase heavily and have been animportant social problem, which threaten the stability and harmonious development ofsociety.The study selected25classifying internet rumors cases from2008to2012. Basedon these cases, the study analyzed the development trend of internet rumors. It alsodiscussed the present government actions on refuting internet rumors from time, way andeffect aspects and its problem.At last, the paper pointed out that, in order to cope with the internet rumors moreeffectively, the government should establish the internet rumors coping mechanism,strengthen the monitoring and prevention, disclose related information to the public,punish the rumor mongers severely, monitor the rumors’ carriers comprehensively,broaden the channels and the ways of refuting rumor, transform the way to guide thenetwork public opinion, abate the phenomenon of reverse cognition, improve cybercitizen’s ability of rumor identification and encourage the development of theself-purification organization. |
