Thirty years ago, the implementation of "family planning" policyis to solve the contradiction between population and economic development in our country. The policy for the country’s economic development has made tremendous contributions, but also made a negative impaction of Chinese family structure, Such as the existence of "family lost the only child",With China’s surge in the number of family lost the only child, their pension problem is worsening and lack of social support system, family lost the only child’s pension problem is become a social problem, Therefore, how to ease the plight of family lost the only child’s pension problem, improve the pension social support system becomes an important issue to be resolved in the current government.Nanjing is an important political, economic cities in China, the research about family in Nanjing lost the only child is typical. In this paper,author carried out a detailed investigation and comprehensive analysis for the present living conditions of family lost the only child, the study found that family which lost their only child would lead to a series of pension issues. At the same time,due to the imperfections of the pension system in Nanjing, the family lost the only child’s life is more difficult.In this paper, author make exploratory research and descriptive study combined. Using a variety of methods to understanding the basic living conditions of family lost the only child, and make a comprehensive analysis of their living situation, pension needs, pension difficulties and pension social support, try to analysis the inadequate of pension social support system and find the reason cause the pension predicament. On this basis, author will give the government some advice which would help them improve the pension system of social support and build a harmonious society.
