In the early 1980s, the family planning policy was identified as a basic national policy of our country, China has become the first country which implemented mandatory intervention on fertility in the world. Since the implementation of the family planning policy, China’s population growth rate has been effectively controlled, which promoted the rapid development of China’s economy and society to a large extent, but also accumulated a large number of only child families risks, "the only child-lost family" is the product of the only child family risk maximization. Due to reasons such as diseases or accidents, many parents lost their only child in their old age, who not only to endure huge sadness in spirit, but also face the reality that no one can take care of them when they are old until die. With the rising number of this kind of family, more and more people are concerning about the parents who lost only child and their survival status. How to properly resolve the only child-lost family pension issues become a social problem which has to be solved in an emergencyQingdao is located in the eastern coastal, which has density population. The overall work of family planning has been at the leading level in the province and the state. Qingdao has the high rate of urban only child and large number of only child-lost families. The developed economy and abundant finance of Qingdao provides strong financial security to solve the problem of only child-lost family pension. In terms of only child-lost families,Qingdao not only has the general representative, but also has practical operability,, so I choose the only child-lost families in Qingdao city as the research object, and will make further investigation and study on the existing situation and pension needs of the only child-lost families, in order to play a certain reference role in the future on this matter.The study is divided into eight chapters:The first chapter introduces the research background, purpose and significance, the research review both at home and abroad and research ideas and methods; The second chapter elaborates on concepts and theories of only child-lost families, pension, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory, the theory of social support and welfare pluralism theory The third chapter investigate the existing situation and realistic demand of only child-lost families in Qingdao city for case study by using the depth interview method, and four typical cases are described and analyzed; The fourth chapter studies the present survival situation and pension needs of only child-lost families in city through the network questionnaire,this chapter further analyzes the research result using descriptive and differences analysis; The fifth chapter further summarizes the survival status of only child-lost families in qingdao on the basis of investigation and analyzes the pension needs of only child-lost families from economic security, life care and spiritual solace; The sixth chapter introduces the experiences and practices around the country in the only child-lost family support, and the successful experience in pension of the United States, Japan, Singapore etc, which will provide a reference for solving only child-lost families pension problem in the city area of Qingdao; The conclusion part of the research makes a brief description of the study conclusion and limitation of this article.
