Ideology is not only the basis of a country’s stability, but also an important factor of a legitimate political power. It serves as a main principle for citizens to realize socialization. Therefore the mainstream ideology of a country plays a crucial role in a county’s stability and development. For the last few years, a series of decisions and guidance were issued by the Party and government, aimed to strengthen the mainstream value education based on Marxism and consolidate the ideological basis of China’s socialist modernization. However, the result is not as satisfying as it should be. The reason is the rapid development of the internet. The age of internet has come, which leads to the development of internet public opinions. Internet public opinions present ample opportunities as well as huge challenges to the development of China’s mainstream ideology.
