The Research On Community Volunteer Service Of The University Students

As one of the major social services of Communist Youth League, community volunteer service has played an important role in maintaining a good social order and promoting the development of community. Nowadays, social management has made a higher demand for a more innovative community volunteer service. How to meet the need of the society and how to advance further into the innovation of social management is the challenging task for community volunteer service, which also mount new challenge for the skeleton organization of the Communist Youth League.A project, in which student cadres in Youth League from Xiamen University and Xiamen City Vocational College take the temporary posts as assistant director in community, turns out to be a new form of serving for the community. Excellent student cadres in Youth League at colleges compose the main body of this team for the community service. By taking the advantages of all kinds of sources at college, the project provides effective management and service for the construction and development of the community in a project-driven pattern and has made great achievement in the past two years, which sets a good example for the Youth League in other colleges who also take part in the social management innovation.This article carries out a theoretical analysis of the community volunteer service of college students and the social management innovation, and points out the inner connection between the two, which aims at giving a theory support for the students cadres who working at temporary posts to advance the social management innovation. From the perspective on social management innovation, the article analyzes the implementary background, features, and achievement of the project, and reveals its innovative feature when compared with other forms of social services. The article uses the experience of the social management innovation in different communities for reference and brings forward advanced project management methods, and suggests utilizing the coordination mechanism of community volunteer service for a long period to promote the sustainable development of the project, which would meet the need for social management innovation and in the same time, achieve new progress.
