In2008, with the official establishment of the Sino-Japanese strategic and mutuallybeneficial relations, political relations between the two countries have a new opportunity fordevelopment. Meanwhile, some structural problems between the two countries receive moreand more attention, including Diaoyu Islands whose belonging is a complex problem. DiaoyuIsland dispute once again becomes social focus because of the Purchase island of Japan in2012. Diaoyu Island is a part of China. United States is the culprit causing. The reason ofUnited States intervention to Diaoyu Island, the influence to China and China’scountermeasures are the main contents and the research purpose of this paper.Diaoyu islands is located in east longitude123°20’~124°45’, north latitude25°40’~26°, and the east of the east China sea continental shelf edge. It is Taiwan’s affiliated islands.The Diaoyu Islands are composed of three pieces of rock which include the Diaoyu island, theSouth Island, Nouth Island, Yellow tail islet, five red-tail island and the South Island, NouthIsland, fly Seto island. Diaoyu Island is one of the largest of the Islands, called DiaoyuIslands. The Diaoyu island, Diaoyu islands and the Diaoyu Island and its subsidiary Islandwhich mentioned in this paper refers to the same place, that is representatives of the DiaoyuIslands to the Diaoyu Islands.This paper analyze Diaoyu Island dispute from five aspects.The first part tells about the origin of the Diaoyu islands. It includes the islands of thegeographical position, part of economic value, energy value and strategic position. This partlet the readers know about Diaoyu island, then through a series of historical evidence to provethat the Diaoyu islands is a part of China. Speaking from the topography, Diaoyu Island, anatural extension of China, is located at the edge of the continental shelf of the East China Sea.The closer to China mainland, the shallower water depth. Japan Ryukyu Islands side has adepth of1000~2000meters of trenches, called the Okinawa trough. At the same time, underthe influence of trade wind belt, the effects of wind direction and flow direction, go fishing bythe Fujian and Taiwan islands is the wind, and the ryukyu island is under the wind. Throughthis, we can judge that Chinese people’s activities are always in the Diaoyu Island. As early as the Ming dynasty it was already apart of the sea area in China. the Diaoyu Islands was first discovered and used by Chinesepeople. There are a lot of literature at that time, including some japonicliterature also record to show that the diaoyu islands belonging to the Chinese government.Then it describes the process of the Dioayu Islands dispute. In late19th century Japan eijigovernment carried out aggressive and expansionist policy. Japan stared the war to the Qingdynasty. In January1895, The Japanese government secretly allot the diaoyu slands ofOkinawa, trying to steal the Diaoyu Islands. Post war, Japan signed the Maguan Treaty, theQing Government was forced to cede Taiwan and its surrounding islands to Japan, and overthe next half century, Diaoyu Taiwan affiliated Islands have been around Japan occupation.After the world war II, China, as one of the victors of World War II, in accordance with theprovisions of the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, China has the right torecover all of the territory of China, including the Diaoyu Islands. But China did not recovertheir territory after the war. Due to United States for their own national interests, the UnitedStates, Japan who bypass China, and48pro-US national organizations have signed the peacetreaty with Japan in September1951. Treaty claims that United States has achieved the rightsincluding the Ryukyu Islands of Japan Islands. On December5,1953, US governmentpublished the27th announcement, which specified the Ryukyu Government’s geographicjurisdictional boundaries, including the Diaoyu Islands. In May1972, according to theUS-Japan agreement on the Ryukyu Islands and the Daito Islands, United States handed theexecutive power of Okinawa over to Japan, the Diaoyu Islands as an island of the Ryukyu.This activity thorough violate the Potsdam Proclamation about postwar Japan territorialscope-related provisions and principles. From1990of the20th century to the late in2008,UnitedStates’s policy changed gradually. It changed from neutrality to involved with caution. Since2008, United States became actively involved in Diaoyu Islands dispute and use that as ameans to negotiate with China. And this paper also analyzed the main background of thischanged policies and the main features of United States’policies to Dioayu Islands.The third part describes the reason of United States intervention to Diaoyu Islandsdispute. As for the island themselves and the United States Asia-Pacific strategy, the reasonwhy Diaoyu Islands changed to an island been eyed by many others counties. This paperanalyze the reasons from three aspects: politic, economic and military. The United StatesObama Government actively "returned to" Asia-Pacific. In order to prevent the developmentof China and Japan to guarantee themselves in Asia-Pacific of status, the united statesmanufacture contradictions between China and Japan. The US uses patriotism andnationalism to kidnap China. In economic, because of the economic crisis in recent years,United States needs China and Japan to rescue, so constantly manufactures area contradictions,which makes both nations has begged United States. US even agitate war to achieve dollarsreturn, thereby to help United States economic recovery. From military aspect, Diaoyu islandsstrategy location is quite important, so United States does not want China to control theDiaoyu Islands really. At last United States from the initial neutral policy becomes cautious tointervene to actively intervene to contain China.The fourth part analyzes the impact on China due to United States intervention and somethinking on China’s countermeasures. United States use Diaoyu Islands as a means tocontinuously contain China’s development and the relations with the neighboring countries,which produced a negative influence to China’s political and economic security. We shoulddefend our national interests and territory. We should also develop the new power relationshipwith United States which goes in the direction of Diaoyu Islands dispute in favor of China.The fifth part analyzes China’s countermeasures to United States intervention to DiaoyuIslands.
