Some Enlightenment On Our Ideological And Political Education From American Citizenship Education

Ideological and political education in China has been playing animportant role in promoting socialist spiritual civilizationconstruction and train qualified socialist successors, but along withthe advancement of socialist modernization and the deepening ofglobal integration, the ideological and political education work isfacing many challenges, shoulder the responsibility of the moresignificant. We are in urgent need of injected fresh blood to theideological and political education to constantly adapt to the newsituation new changes. How to keep the fine tradition of ideologicaland political education on the basis of using the experience of othercountries to enhance the actual effect of ideological and politicaleducation work is an important topic. American civic education hasbeen walking in the forefront of the world, after two hundred years ofdevelopment, has accumulated rich experience in theory and inpractice. Although our country and the United States the differentsocial system and ideology, theory and practice in ideological andpolitical education is quite different, but the civil education as acultural phenomenon of human society, is not for a particular class ofproprietary by state institutions. In today’s economic globalizationand cultural diversity, the citizens of the United States education canbroaden our horizons, promote reform and innovation of ideologicaland political education. By studying the citizens of the United Stateseducation and drawing on the successful experience of American civic education to promote and improve the ideological and politicaleducation work is of great significance in China.Although the United States did not have the term of " ideologicaland political education ", that does not mean that the United Statesis no ideological and political education, but the U.S. ideological andpolitical education is in a manner of permeable, indirect,hidden.American citizen education always achieve the aims ofeducation through other ways. Because of different social systemand ideology, the implementing situation of the ideological andpolitical education are different. Therefore, when we studying theAmerican civic education,we should have correct gesture that“absorbing the successful experience of the United States andaccording to the actual situation of China’s to create at the sametime.” For America’s experience, we should complement each other,learning from the good and rejecting the bad.At the same time,learnfrom the experience even more in conjunction with China’s actualsituation, put forward practical and easy to operate localizationmethod is recommended to constantly enrich and develop ourideological and political education system, and ultimately enhancethe effectiveness of ideological and political education, ideologicaland political education more adapted to allow development of thetimes, to better serve the overall interests of the socialistmodernization drive.This paper based on the research of the American citizeneducation education successful experience summed up the Americancitizen, then through using the experience of American citizeneducation ideological and political education of several enlightenment to our country. Framework of the article are as follows:the first chapter of civic education and ideological and politicaleducation on the concept definition and explains the relation anddistinction between them; The second chapter analyzes the presentsituation of American civic education; The third chapter analyzes thepresent situation of ideological and political education in our country;The fourth chapter, through the analysis of the first two chapters onthe situation of China and the United States, according to the actualsituation of our country socialism, it is concluded that the UnitedStates citizenship education enlightenment on ideological andpolitical education in our country.
