Social Work and current Non Government Organizations (NGO) in China play importantroles in addressing social problems. They also have common parts in the service and goal setting.By adopting qualitative research method, the author participated and observed daily lives ofmigrant workers from migrant worker organization, and then did some in-depth interviews withworkers in NGO, teachers, social workers and migrant workers. In this paper, it is going to findutilization of social work in NGOs based on study on a NGO in Beijing. It is also going to findcooperation between social work and NGOs to address social problems and promote socialharmony. The current document most focused on the social worker servicing for migrant workers, andthere are many problems. At the same time, social work hasn’t put migrant workers as the mainobject of service, and the service level, institutionalization and stability is not enough. In current, social work intervention mainly has two forms: one is social work agency servicing migrantworkers; another is social workers working in the migrant worker organization. Based onprofessional internship in migrant worker organizations, the author mainly explores theapplication and development of social work in migrant worker organizations, and hopes to be ableto find some common, in order to provide new ideas for the localization of social work in China. It found that social work has obvious advantage in the NGOs. The advantages show up inprofessional social work method, the irreplaceable value of social workers, and the broad space fordevelopment. But at the same time, the working environment, treatment and value orientation andso on of NGOs affect the long-term development of the social work. According to thedevelopment of social work in the current Chinese NGOs, It has both advantages anddisadvantages. As part of the localization of social work, government, NGOs and social workersshould work together, through policy advocacy, seeking resources and the internalization of socialwork values, to improve the condition of the development of social work in the NGOs, and toexpand space and advantages of development of the social work in the NGOs.
