Research On Our Government Support Distance Education

The development of distance education has become a global trend, manygovernments regard the development of distance education as an important strategicdecision, making specific plans and organizing implementation. Now,there are onehundred countries developing distance education. Distance education as a new educationalphilosophy, it is very important for establishing the learning society. In order to promotethe development of distance education, over the years, the government gave it vigorouslysupport. But now,there are some problems in the support process, these problems havebad effect for the effectiveness of government support and the healthy development ofdistance education. The purpose of this study is to analyze some problems in the processof government support, to give reasonable suggestions, to make the distance educationhave a better development.Firstly, the paper makes clearly about research object and related theories. it makesclearly about definitions and characteristics of distance education and government. AndStudies the relationship between them. The paper has a solid theory basis, such asgovernment education services functions theory、public administration theory and socialservices theory.Secondly, the paper establishes evaluation system about how our governmentsupport distance education, and selects representative areas to carry out evaluation, usesthe method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to evaluate our government’s support fordifferent regions and different academic levels of distance education.Thirdly, the paper describes situation、finds problems and analyzes reasons. On thebasis of selecting representative areas to evaluate, Summarizes some problems whichexisting in the process of government support of distance education, and analyzes thereasons.Finally, the paper discusses how to solve the problems. Through the method of fuzzycomprehensive to evaluate the problems which generated by the government in thesupport process. The paper combines with our government functions and the developmentof distance education, gives reasonable suggestions to improve the effectiveness ofgovernment support.Iincluding optimizing the funding support, establishing legal support, increasing technical support and improving the social service system.
