The Research On Knowledge-forming In The Laboratory Of Colleges Of Engineering

Since the anthropological observe and study performed in the sciencelaboratory by Sociology of Science Knowledge in western country, the profitsthat laboratory study brings to Sociology&Science and Technology Philosophyare far beyond expectation. Development of the labs goes with the progress ofscience and technology. Research about the kinds of knowledge is more and morecomplex due to the expanding of the relation net of the laboratory. Especiallywhen the labs of engineering colleges came into history, people were consciousof that knowledge might be of various types. This study is of great important tothe understanding of knowledge and of significant value of the knowledge-forming in college engineering laboratories.There are science lab, industrial lab and college engineer lab according tothe time that laboratory develops. And every type of these labs is formed under acertain background and history environment. Based on this background, we canreveal the relations and differences among those labs. And we find out collegeengineer labs of these days are built on a special relation net, including benefit,preference, political factors, and etc. In order to explain the micro process ofknowledge-forming in college engineer laboratory, we introduce a particular case,microbial fermentation technology, to provide the research approach to reveal therelation between the provider of the program and research crew in the college.The case shows us how they solve problems and reach an agreement when thereare conflicts between theory and reality. Consequently, the knowledge in collegeengineer laboratory is born through the interaction among every main bodyinside and outside the lab. We can tell that an element of inter-subjectivity, adeep philosophy point, takes a major part throughout the forming of knowledge,which also support the view point of phenomenology—returning to the thingitself.This work starts with the theories about knowledge developing. Then putknowledge back to the specific environment—college engineer laboratory—where knowledge-forming occurs. We explore the knowledge formation processwhere the knowledge is formed and the process takes place. This research issupposed to give a new angle of understanding of laboratory and knowledge study and try to give an exhibition of the knowledge formation process innowadays college engineer laboratory.
