With an overall developmentof Chineseeconomy and society and the needs of politicalstructure reform, social organizations have made significant advancesduring recent years. At thesame time, based on the characteristics of our nation’s conditions, it produces a batch ofendogenous social organizations led by the government, which arouseswide-range attentionamong the public. Through the academic research, however, the author found it is lacking in thethorough, in-time, scientific and objective research on the actual situations and transformationmechanism of endogenous social organizations.This paper focuses on investigation and study on the nature of community social organizationin Shanghai, and intends to present readers the latest development statusof social organizationsand prove with examples the necessity of co-existence of the government and social organizationagainst the characteristic nation situation. This paper tries to explore a suitable third path forChina’s social organizations.In order to obtain comprehensive real research materials, this paper refers to a large numberof research results at home and abroad, adopts qualitative research methods, such as in-depthinterviews, focus-group to collectthe new information about social organization in Shanghai city,and conducts the detailed analysis. In main body part, firstly,the author introduced the basicsituation of endogenous organization in Shanghai. Then, from the prospective of resourcedependent, it analyzes the interdependence between organizations and government relationsrespectively. Thirdly, according to data, it elaborates the necessity and conditions aboutindependent developmentfor the social organization. Finally, it trys to put forward the suitableway named the "third way"for the development of the community social organizations in ourcountry from dependence to independence.At last,the author provides reasonable suggestions toorganizational development,such as mechanism systems, initiative roles in its own development,and the intervening of social work.
