After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, due to the political,economic, cultural, and diplomatic reasons in many aspects, national implementationof the national university departments adjustment.After the liberation of Guangzhou, Guangdong political, economic, cultural andeducation ushered in a new period of development. In the guiding ideology ofeducational policy for the Common Programme, all the universities startedpreliminary development of curriculum reform, teachers and students ideological andpolitical work, laid the foundation for the Department to adjust the expansion ofGuangdong. From the foundation of Southern China normal college in1951to set uptwo large-scale adjustment of departments in1952and1953, dozens of public andprivate school in Guangdong adjustment for new Zhongshan University, SouthernEngineering College, Southern agricultural college, Southern Medical College andSouthern normal college, forming a comprehensive university and four special schooleducation system, arranging "special" education system.After the adjustment of universities in Guangdong, the establishment of fivenew universities changed the former department setting up complex situation, initiallyestablished a comprehensive university and industry, agriculture, medicine andnormal colleges of higher education system, becoming the Guangdong personneltraining and scientific research bases, training a lot of special talent in the early daysof foundation. But the adjustment of universities is copying the Soviet system,professional division is too small, fragmented serious, and seriously undermined theGuangdong more basic grammar department, affected the development of Guangdongeducation, so that the long-term loss of Guangdong Province National Educationstatus. This paper intends to adjust this historical event from the analysis of thefounding of the PRC in Guangdong, exploring the interaction between highereducation in Guangdong and socio-economic development, and providing referencefor current education reform.
