Research On The Impact Of Guangdong Universities' Science And Technology Innovation In Economic Growth

Innovation can promote national progress,it plays a decisive role in regional economic growth.With the rise of knowledge economy era,the innovation is becoming an important indicator of regional economic strength,and the status of universities in the area of technological innovation is gradually prominent.The urgent need for innovation of regional economic growth,makes scientific and technological innovation task,especially the knowledge innovation heavy burden increasingly depends upon Universities.Universities as the system which has a wealth of intelligence,knowledge and information resources,is the backbone of regional scientific and technological innovation system,bears unique responsibilities in promoting the development of regional scientific and technological innovation and the sustained and healthy economic growth.Therefore,the university is not only an important force in technological innovation,but also an important army to achieve social and economic benefits,promote economic growth.Strengthen scientific and technological innovation,promote the rapid and healthy economic growth is the universities' sacred mission entrusted by the times,and Guangdong Province is an economically strong province,strengthening science and technology innovation,and promoting economic growth are imperative.This article built the universities of Guangdong Province of science and technology innovation index system,from innovation input and innovation output two aspects,using the macro data of 2003--2013 years,to analyze the current situation of Guangdong universities of technological innovation,through empirical research to get the contribution status of universities' science and technology innovation to Guangdong provincial economic growth,and then found that,Guangdong Province universities' scientific and technological innovation,in addition to teaching and research personnel,R&D intramural expenditure,the number of patents and the number of technology transfer contracts play a positive role in promoting economic growth,the number of science and technology publishing books and the published academic papers is a negative-acting in economic growth.
