In this research, the questionnaire surveys are conducted among first-line managers. Firstly,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are used to study the structure offirst-line managers’ executive ability of field. Secondly, the correlation analysis and regressionanalysis are applied to study the correlative relationship between the executive ability of fieldand task performance. Finally, independent sample T test and ANOVA analysis are used to studythe influence demographic variables have on executive ability of field. Conclusions of thisresearch are as followed:1. First-line managers’ executive ability of field is composed of three factors: ability ofplan and initiative, ability of self-control, and ability of resilience.2. The degree of first-line managers’ executive ability of field are significantly related withtask performance. And ability of self-control has the strongest predicting effect on taskperformance while ability of plan and initiative has the weakest.3. Among the demography variables, education has significant difference on the degree ofexecutive ability of field. But no significant differences are found on gender, age, years ofworking and type of work.Finally, basic on empirical analysis, from organizational and individual perspective,several human resource management strategies which can improve first-line managers’executive ability of field are also been discussed.
