A Study On The Path Of Ideological And Political Education To Cultivate The Value Selection Capacity Of College Students

The21st century is the century of choices. With opener market economy, moredemocratic political system and looser control mode, people get real freedom ofchoice and the right to choose. The diversification provides people with a wider spaceof selection, also exacerbates the pressure of selection, because every choice mayhave decisive affect on the survival and development. People are not born with theability to select the correct value. Therefore, learning to choose is the spontaneousdemand to live a better life and get comprehensive development, and teachingstudents to choose becomes the expectation to school education. As the backbone ofhelping students to understand the world and transform the world, Ideological andpolitical education should bear the responsibility of developing students’ valueselection capacity. it is the most suitable path to achieve this task because of thepolitical and organizational advantages, which is the right way to Improve the actualeffect of Ideological and political education. In order to train the value selectioncapacity of college students, ideological and political education must reform thetraditional education idea, respect students’ subjectivity, improve education method,focus on the reasoning process and practice process of choosing values. It isimportant to teach students how to judge, compare, evaluate and create values.Ideological and political education should pay attention to the personalitydevelopment of students, and let them more independent to make right choices.Developing the value selection capacity is the fundamental method to establish theirself-confidence and strength to face the world. In this way, guide them to consciouslyaccept the correct values which is the content and purpose of ideological and politicaleducation.According to the social reality and the demand of personal development, thispaper put forward the necessity of developing the value selection capacity, under theguidance of the Marxism about the theory of people’s subjectivity and all-rounddevelopment of human being, using the values clarification theory for reference.Based on the process of making a choice, this paper analyzes the four elements thatconstitute the value selection capacity and the influencing factors. Around therelationship between dominance and diversity, this paper discusses the enforcementmechanism of ideological and political education responsible for developing the valueselection capacity. Combining with the factors that affect college students’ value selection capacity, this paper expounds the strategy of ideological and politicaleducation. At last, this paper proposes the practice paths, mainly including theteaching path and the organization path, in order to promote the project in thepractical implementation.
