The Research On The Common Core State Standards Of American Basic Education Curriculum

American education is a strong part in the country, but it’s development seems to be unbalanced. Because of the continued inefficient performance, basic education has become the main factor which affects the development of social economy and the improvement of international competitiveness. To solve this problem, the United States has explored to develop national curriculum standards since the1980s which can reduce the negative effects bring by the education decentralization system through such reforms based on national standards of U.S and at the same time enhance the overall level of basic education, while the Common Core State Standards is the continuing development of this kind of reform.China’s latest round of basic education curriculum reform was officially launched in2001, which has been more than ten years till now. Even though on the problems of National Curriculum Standards, the United States once learned from China. But when talking about the curriculum standards of openness, structure content enrichment perfection and evaluation system construction, China should actively learn from America for there is a big gap existed in these aspects. In addition, some problems of our country in the implementation of new curriculum also has important reference value for the subsequent implementation of the new curriculum standards in the United States.This dissertation will mainly analyze the Common Core State Standards as follows. Firstly, analyze both international and domestic background of Common Core State Standards, from which you can know that the new curriculum standards began in the1980s based on the inheritance and innovation of the reform of basic education in the national curriculum standards. Next is a comprehensive analysis about the standards development process and the structure of the text content, from which you can know that the standards development process is called the best practice and standard text is a high-quality standard file. After that, the dissertation describes the implementation and evaluation of the standard system construction.Currently the standards have been only used in a few states in full implementation, most states are still in preparation. Finally, the writer will introduce our national curriculum standards from three aspects of the development process, the text features and implementation issues. And with the practice of national curriculum standards in China and the United States, summarize and propose the two countries’ common revelation in order to promote the implementation of the curriculum standards between the two countries, working for the greater role of basic education reform.
