Study On Social Adaption Of Gay’s Wife Group In Virtual Community

In contemporary society, although social culture tends to be more and morediversafication, some groups are repelled by dominant culture, such as Gay’s wife(abbreviated as G.W),which is a derivative group of gays. It’s difficulty for G.W toadapting special identities and precipitate life changes,for being repelled anddiscriminated by dominant culture.G.W’s social adaption is not only the end of marital relations with gays,but also theadaption to economy, communication, psychosocial and other aspects. The paperstudies G.W’s social adaption by utilizing Habermas’ theory of communication astheoretical basis, and then divides social adaption of G.W into individual level, sociallevel and psychological level. Individual level correspond to the teleological action ofHabermas theory. The paper gives the explaination on interaction between G.W andgays with Exchange Theory, and obtains the adaption method of individual level. Sociallevel correspond to the normatively regulated action. The paper mainly discusses theG.W’s communication, group interaction’s influence on it and so on. Psychological levelcorrespond to dramaturgical action. The paper mainly discusses the status quo of G.W’spsychological social adaption, the analysis of causes, the methords to well adaption andso on. Psychological level adaption is deep-going of individual level adaption and sociallevel adaption.The paper utilizes qualitative research approach, which is virtual anthropologicalmethod and text analysis. The paper mainly uses observational method and depthinterview to make questionnaire survey for173G.W and find16typical cases in BBSand QQ group.The paper finds G.W in individual level decides whether divorce by emotion，economy，children grow and self-safety. It’s also individual level adaption. Social levelreflects the influence of group normative to individual action. The main issue is the littlescapes of communication going against obtaining social resources. So the solution is toenhance the communication ability. The main issues of psychological level are Tongqi’sdissatisfaction with life condition and disidentification on position. So the solution is toeliminate social exclusion, enhance social support, enlarge the communication andstructure G.W’s psychological identification to help them be normal.
