With the constant expansion of graduate enrollment, the academic typecultivation model is not able to adapt to the requirement of the social developmentany more. It’s crucial that coordinating the relation between enrollment amount andcultivation quality well. In order to satisfy the requirement of society on theapplication type talent, therefore, many universities begin to cultivate high-leveltechnical talents. The training modes of academic type talents and application typetalents are different, so graduate classified cultivation mode appears.Some universities have begun to try the classified training mode to graduatestudents in China. According to graduate enrollment files of Ministry of Education,universities and colleges started to enroll full-time masters of engineering in2009.The classified cultivation mode to academic type and application type to full-timegraduate students, which means classified cultivation mode in China enters to a newphase. At the same time, it is also an milestone of the development of mastereducation in China.In the thesis, classified cultivation mode of masters in engineering discipline inAmerica, Russia and China is the object of study. Firstly, the writer make anoverview of cultivation modes of masters of the three countries, then define theexact modes of America, Russia and China. And making a comparison ofacademic and application type cultivation mode among the three countries. Itanalyzes the modes from training objectives, admission requirements, degreerequirements, curriculum and graduation projects by using the methods of caseanalysis. Finally, through the comparison of each modes in China with cultivationmodes in America and Russia, the writer proposes several suggestions to the reformof cultivation modes to master of engineering discipline to China.
