When college students have mental troubles, there are only a few of them will seek help from professional psychological institutions. Many researchers at home and abroad have done a lot about the influencing factors of attitudes toward seeking professional psychological help (ATSPPH). The purpose of this research is to analyze different influencing variables of ATSPPH, and find out the most important influencing factor. This study is aim to discover a useful way to improve college students’ATSPPH, promote their mental health, and help them learn to make full use of school’s psychological service.This study contains two related researches:The first part, Impact study of ATSPPH. In this part of study, we use questionnaire survey method to study college students’ATSPPH in Yang Zhou district, and analyze the influencing factors of ATSPPH.The second part, Intervention study of ATSPPH. Based on the influencing factors of ATSPPH, we used transpersonal therapy and cognitive therapy to intervene college students’ ATSPPH. Then compare the effects.Conclusions are listed below:1. These factors can affect ATSPPH:shame experience, locus of control, social prejudice, self-hidden level, gender, place of birth. Of all the factors, shame is the most important predict source.2. College students’Shame experience and ATSPPH are significant correlation.3. The shame experience can predict ATSPPH on some extent.4. The intervention can improve the situation of students’ATSPPH.
