Xuzhou is also one of the birthplaces of Chinese traditional wushu, it had always been a city of great military importance. Practicing wushu has been always prevalent in Xuzhou area, with various schools of Chinese boxing. However, with the development of the society and the change of era, Xuzhou traditional wushu has lost its luster. At the time when general problems facing national wushu, the problems facing Xuzhou area is even more prominent and representative. Studying on the problems facing Xuzhou’s traditional wushu is of great importance to the development of wushu in Xuzhou area., it’s also a reference to the development of Chinese traditional wushu.By using the methods of literature investigation, observation, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logical analysis, etc,studying on the current situation of traditional wushu in Xuzhou area, statistic the data, ana lysing and discussing the problems ex siting in the inheritance, and current situation of traditional wushu in Xuzhou area. drawing the following conclusion:1. Xuzhou had always been a city of great mi] itary importance from ancient to now. Practicing wushu has been always prevalent in Xuzhou area, with various schools of Chinese boxing. However, with the development of the time, traditional wushu has taken deeply place in value and function. Traditional wushu practitioners and heirs in gradually reduce, still follow the traditional way of teaching.2. College students have a certain understanding to the traditional wushu in Xuzhou area, but the real practitioners are rarely, they did not cater to modern people life rhythm. There are not science teaching materials to support it, and training methods and means are still single, restricting the heritage and development of traditional wushu.3. Local media propaganda is not enough to the traditional wushu, the public is difficult to really understand the value and function of traditional wushu. The local government department in charge of sports didn’t like the development of competitive sports offer certain guide from policy support, and mostly rely on their own folk strength to develop the traditional wushu, so that traditional wushu development faces great obstacles in Xuzhou area.
