In Compulsory Schooling Chinese Curriculum Standards, junior middleschool reading target is clearly prescribed and the suggestions on the practiceand evaluation of reading instruction are proposed as well. All thesesuggestions guide the arrangement of test points in the high school entranceexamination directly. Modern article reading accounts for a considerable scoreproportion in Chinese test of high school entrance examination, but have alow-scoring, because of this, it becomes a difficult point in junior middleschool Chinese teaching. Compulsory Schooling Chinese CurriculumStandards explicitly stipulates the teaching target which the junior middleschool reading teaching should achieve and manifests by thethree-dimensional target. Analyzing the phenomenon of score-losing in thehigh school entrance examination, we can find out the problems of students’reading ability on basis of the mastery condition of three-dimensional target.Except for failing in reaching the requirement of three-dimensional target,another reason for students’ score-losing in their reading parts is failing inmaster the basic means on resolving the questions of reading comprehension.While they do reading exercises, students can not always firmly grasp theobjectivity and reducibility of modern article reading, which easily makestudents express their own viewpoints out of reading materials and ignore thekey information.If we want to perform the effective training, the first thing we need to do isto make the setting of the test details clear. According to CompulsorySchooling Chinese Curriculum Standards as well as the modern articlereading questions of Chinese test in the high school entrance examined from2009to2011in Hohhot, this thesis firstly analyses the basic traps of the testdetails of modern article reading in high school entrance examination.Through citing examples, the author illustrates the typical traps in answeringthe reading questions of modern articles. Then the author discusses thereasons why the students answer these typical examples in a wrong way from two perspectives, namely, failing in achieving the three-dimensional targetand failing in mastering the basic means of reading. On this basis, this thesisin accordance with the advice on the implementation of teaching methods ofreading in the Compulsory Schooling Chinese Curriculum Standards furtherprovides the teaching method of Chinese reading in junior middle school. Theteachers need to transform their ideas to form the three-dimensional target,then integrate third ideas and make teaching plans. The teachers should layemphasis on cultivating the students to form good reading habits both in theirreading training in class and in the reading plan out of the class, what’s more,the right reading sequence and reading with plan and aim are the key point ofcultivating.
