Chinese is a combination of humanistic discipline and instrumental discipline. Cultivating students’ humanity accomplishment is very important in Chinese teachi ng.The traditional sinology is a unique aspect of Chinese subject.Traditional sino logy is a valuable wealth to the five-thousand Chinese culture,As a Chinese,every one should have a basic understanding of the traditional sinology knowledge,so th at they can increase cultural accomplishment, and also can improve the quality of being a person.At present, a lot of high school has added the traditional sinolog y textbook as a supplementary extracurricular learning,which has a great help to t he growth of the students.Trough the study of extracurricular traditional sinology t extbook, we can understand the teaching situation and improvement of traditional sinology education in some high schools.At the same time, it’s convenient for us t o be familiar with its overall development. In this paper, the author tries to use th e extracurricular textbook Confucian Classic Quotations of Wuhan No.4High Sch ool as the studying material. I hope this paper can make a contribution to the de velopment of the traditional sinology education by having an overall analysis of t he traditional sinology teaching material.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part is chapter one. In this part,it mainly analyzes the development of traditional sinology education in the high school from the general aspects. The first chapter dicusses and analyzes the usage situation of different traditional sinology textbooks in the mainland and the Taiwan area. In particular, the main target is focused on the Wuhan area. Besides, the Confucian classics education in the traditional sinology education is also discussed.The second part consists of chapter two, chapter three, and chapter four. This part mainly aims at analyzing the extracurricular textbook Confucian Classic Quotations of Wuhan No.4High School. The author analyzes and explains the textbook from the aspects of the article selection principles, characteristics, structure and usage situation through the on-the-spot investigation.The third part is chapter five. Through the comprehensive study of the extracurricular textbook Confucian Classic Quotations, the author puts forward some improvements on it. The chapter five makes some suggestion to improve and perfect the textbook Confucian Classic Quotations through the above comprehensive research. In the final conclusion, the author further puts forward some advice on the nationalwide teaching material.
