In recent years, computer technology has been rapidly developed, and computer aided instruction is not a fresh word for all teachers, especially computer aided English teaching has already silently entered into the English classroom and has played a significant role in improving students’ interest, activeness, creativeness and the learning effect in teaching and learning, which will allow computer aided English teaching to become an indispensable tool of English teaching in the future. English teaching mainly involves in listening, speaking, reading and writing, which have been fully reflected in the English papers. Under the influence of the traditional mode of teaching, despite many years of hard work, high school students still cannot get ideal score in the English exam, the main reason is the ideas centered by teachers’teaching and students’learning. Focusing on this phenomenon, the author elaborates in detail the research and study on Computer Aided English teaching which can improve the teaching effect and academic performance in senior high school. The author divides this essay into five parts, the first part is the introduction; the second part is the related literature review, which mainly makes in-depth exposition on computer aided language teaching from three main aspects, the first aspect is exposition of basic concepts of computer aided education, computer aided instruction and computer aided language teaching; the second aspect is comprehensive description of the basis for multimedia computer aided English classroom teaching, it mainly describes the basic concept of multimedia, the theoretical basis for multimedia computer aided English teaching, and teaching effect and instructional design of multimedia computer aided English teaching; the third aspect is introduction of research on the status and development of multimedia computer aided language teaching home and abroad. The third part is an empirical study mainly carried out in two classes (Class4and Class5) in Baoji High School of Shaanxi. All subjects are in the first semester of their first year. Through pretest and post-test in both classes, the teacher tests on the students’ academic performance. By analysis and research on data obtained from the tests, it can be concluded that the multimedia computer aided English teaching is effective in the learning process and students’ academic performance. The fourth part is mainly analysis and discussion of the data collected, and finds that there are also many shortcomings for the multimedia computer entering the English language classroom, and puts forward the recommendations of the author. The fifth part is the conclusion, which elaborates in detail the conclusion obtained from the data analysis, and feeling and feedback of teacher and student on the multimedia computer English teaching.
