After entering the new century, elementary education has entered a stage ofcomprehensive reform in our country, exploring to set up the integrated sciencecurriculum in junior middle school. What’s more, theoretical study of the system ofintegrated science textbook continuous improving.In view of the current construction of integrated science textbook of junior highschool in China in the initial stage, the present situation of the curriculum resourcesis bad to form a system. We need compile better teaching materials for bothdeveloping our junior high school students physical and mental level and achievingthe goal of science curriculum standard--"improving the scientific literacy of everystudent". This paper uses the research method and comparative research methodduring our country, science textbooks of junior high school of the United States,Japan and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR) in many ways, in orderto offer some theoretical reference for comprehensive compilation of junior highschool science textbooks in china.The main content of this paper is the follow five parts. The paper studies a largenumber of literature, the research background talks two aspects: with rapiddeveloping, science and technology changes our living environment, as well as thecitizen scientific literacy is generally low in our country. What’s more, the paperrealizes the integrated science curricula have been tested in some areas of theprocess and have taken shape in China. At the same time, it analyzes the existingproblems of integrated science textbook of junior high school. It introduces the basicsituation of the curriculum standards of junior high school In the United States, Japan,China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Shanghai.The core part compares the five aspects: the design ideas, the material selection,the contaminative styles, the special texts as well as the characteristics of exercisesabout the integrated science books of junior middle school in the United States,Japan, Hong Kong and Shanghai. We require the American "to develop of studentspersonality", the Japanese "to improve the students ability to survive", Hong Kong "to promote students diversified development" and Shanghai "to improve thescientific literacy of every student". Though comparing we know the advantages anddisadvantages of the textbooks of each country (area) and analysis the commonnessand individuality between different versions of textbooks.What’s more, this paper discusses the history of development of integratedscience education briefly and the international development trend to explore theteaching materials science education of middle school students, to grasp thedevelopment of integrated science textbooks. This chapter presents the importanceof integrated science textbook of junior high school and the content of the newnatural science association.According to the current problems, the final of the paper leads to developmentand construction attention integrated science textbook of junior high school for ourcountry junior middle school science curriculum system. It is an integrated sciencecurriculum in compulsory education in the new century further deepening of thereform and development plan and provides reference enlightenment implication.
