But due to the short history of career counseling inChina, the career counseling system has yet to be professionalized. Negative factorsexist such as the counseling standard has not yet been established, so that careercounseling work in China inevitably encounters some difficulties and problems duringthe developing process. Accordingly, considering the rapid development of the careercounseling industry in our country, we have to learn from other countries, especiallydeveloped countries with a perfect system.American career counseling industry is the leader in this special scientific fieldof the world, which has formed a perfect system of training, certification,specification, etc, and many other countries copy it as an successful example. Thisarticle, through the international comparison and case analysis, studies the Americancareer consultant certification system; mainly analyzes the developing processes ofAmerican career consulting and the framework of vocational certification systemcertification standards. It sums up the characteristics of American professionalconsulting industry, which has a long history and which is rich in theory research andpractice; there are American career consulting organization and associations whichprovide different services with detailed career counseling information database; Thecareer counseling industry associations, colleges and universities, and governmenthave a clear division of responsibilities. American career counseling certificationsystem is established very well, which concludes a detailed certification system, andwhich emphasizes the practice operation ability at the same time. But as theAmerican career counseling certification system certification standards, relevant lawsand regulations are frequently updated, American career counseling certificationprocess become trivial and tedious.Career counseling certification system in China could only provides several types of certification. To perfectour professional consulting certification system, government must change its role,from the manager to the regulator; Colleges and universities, industry associations,and government have to share a clear division of responsibilities. Respectivelycolleges and universities are responsible for training and academic research;associations are responsible for vocational qualification certification and developingmore types of professional qualification certification. Government is responsible forthe supervision and professional consulting work. Other agencies and organizationsshould joint in the work of career counseling to improve the system of careercounseling certification and results of related work.
