Primary School Teacher Competency Survey Research Status

As an organizer and leader of class education work in primary school, thehead teacher is responsible for the management of students, who is also aninstructor helping pupils develop all-roundly in the aspects of morality, intelligence,physique and ability. The head teacher is a link connecting teachers in each subjectand a bridge of communication among school, student organizations, family andsociety. Therefore, head teachers’ work is directly connected to the education qualityand development of school.As a head teacher of primary school; he/she must obtainenough competency to finish his work so as to facilitate the development ofeducation and students. This article focuses on “the competency of head teachers inprimary school” chooses five schools in Qingpu district as research object to surveythe current situation of competency of head teachers in primary school, to discoverquestions and further propose some strategies to promote the competency of headteachers in primary school so as to facilitate the development of their own professionand effectively carrying out of the work in class and school.Part I: introduction. This part gives the research meaning, research ideas of thisthesis. Methods that will be used in this thesis will also be reviewed in this part. Thispart is the foundation of the whole thesis.Part II: This part discusses the meaning of competency of the primary schoolteacher and its key elements.Part III: The current status of primary school teacher’s competency is given bythe graphs. The data are got by questionnaire survey of some primary school teacher.After analyzing the data, some problems have been found.Part IV: Based on the results presented in the last part, we propose some usefulstrategies which can promote primary school teacher’s competency.Part V: Conclusions. We conclude the thesis in this part. Further research topicsare presented in this part.
