Chemistry is a natural science based on practice. Experiment teaching can make the students learn science knowledge and skills and gain practical ability. It can also motivate the students’interests to make them trained in a scientific way. Their experiment ability and creative spirit can be cultivated. If so, students will have excellent personalities such as strict; easy to get along with and cooperate and good qualities like daring to seek truth and doubt; daring to create. Therefore, the condition of the teaching of chemistry experiment has a direct effect on the results and quality of chemistry teaching. The fact is that the present new curriculum reform in chemistry stresses the teaching of chemistry experiment, requires to cultivate students’practical ability and creative spirit, and improve students’scientific quality, which makes chemistry experiment teaching improved to some extent. However, some problems still existed in the present chemistry experiment teaching. In this case, the research is conducted through questionnaires and interviews. The research is aimed at analyzing the present experiment teaching states of senior chemistry new course, finding out the existing problems and analyzing the causes. The following areas are involved in the research including the nine senior schools in Wuhai City, a city of the west of Inner Mongolia, Ordos City, Bayanchuoer City. And the research put forward some solutions to improve experiment teaching effects in the areas. There are five parts. The first part is introduction, which is about the background, significance and methods of the research. The second part is Literature Review. The author analyzes the present state of chemistry experiment teaching in China, stresses strengthening chemistry exploring experiment teaching as the general trend of teaching reform, and sums up the new teaching theories connected with some related experiment teaching research, based on the development of experiment teaching and the present literature review. The third part is the research. To know about the present teaching state, the author made a questionnaire and interviews in nine schools in some nearby cities. The fourth part is about the research result and analysis of chemistry experiment teaching. It is found that the experiment teaching has greatly improved since new course reform carried out although the conditions of experiment teaching are still not satisfactory. Teaching phenomena like teaching experiments through speaking and drawing has rarely seen, but experiment teaching through showing is the biggest characteristic of the present experiment teaching. The fifth part is about some existing problems and solutions in chemistry experiment class teaching. The author found the following problems existing in Chemistry classroom teaching:teachers haven’t pay enough attention to experiment teaching; the exam-oriented education idea is ingrained; chemistry experiment teaching become a mere formalized; the assessment system of chemistry experiment is one-sided implementation; the research of experiments is not practicable. The corresponding counter measures are: change the idea of school leaders’ and teachers’ on the new curriculum reform; reform the mode of teacher training; apply effective relevant strategies of Chemistry Experiment Teaching in senior high school; establish a new experimental evaluation system; carry out inquiry experiments to train students’ exploring consciousness.Some solutions to improve experiment teaching have been put forward. The final part of the thesis is about the problems to be discussed and researched in the future. The main limitation and shortcomings of the thesis are also pointed out.
