The Function Of Ideological And Political Education Of The Middle School Campus Songs

Campus songs, created by students or people outside the schools to show the colourfulness of the campus life and state of mind or feelings of students, with the simple and vivid melodies, and the concise, subtle, colloquial and lively lyrics, being a very good reflection of the lives, feelings, aspirations and ideals of young people, are liable to generate in students wide resonances and widely sung in the campus. Catering to the students’ characteristics and psychology, and closely related to the lives of students and containing many active and healthy thoughts, the campus songs are an important carrier of ideological and political education, playing an important role in the ideological and political education. Studying the important roles the Campus songs played in the ideological and political education, enriches the carriers of moral education and promotes the construction and development of Ideological and Political Education Theory; on the other hand, provides theoretical supports for the development of the campus songs and theoretically confirms the value of campus songs.Based on the actual situations, this thesis will combine the theory of ideological and political education, music, science and other disciplines, to have a relatively deep and detailed discussion of the ideological and political educational functions of the middle school campus songs, its status and the corresponding measures needed to be taken. The thesis is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the reasons of the campus song being the carrier of ideological and political education:campus songs and ideological and political education are inherently logically related. In line with the psychological and physiological characteristics of the high school students, giving full plays to the subjectivity of the high school students, they could improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education. And at the same time, campus songs adapt to trend that the ideological and political education is a combination of explicit education and implicit education.The second part, based on the characteristics of the campus songs, the primary ideological and political educational functions of campus songs are analysed by using cases:to carry out ideological and political education trough the campus songs can inspire the students to find the joys of life, and help students to have a correct attitude toward love; inherit and carry forward the fine traditions; establish lofty ideals, form positive outlooks on life; improve ideological and moral qualities of the high school students to build a harmonious campus.The third part, based the actual situations, will analyse the social factors which hamper the middle school campus songs to play their ideological and political educational functions:the penetration of the vulgar popular music into the campus, the shortage of the teaching stuff and the low music materials levels which restrict the transmission of the campus songs; the weak recognition of the ideological and political educational functions of the campus songs; students’ lack of initiative or music quality affect the appreciation of campus songs; the decline in the quantity and quality of campus songs.The fourth part focuses on the factors which prevent the campus songs to play their ideological and political education, and thus propose some appropriate measures: resisting bad pop music’s invasion on secondary school students’life; improving the level of music teachers and music teaching and the degree of importance attached to the campus songs,creating a good environment for the campus songs and cultivating high level and creative teams to improve the quality of campus songs.
