The campus culture in college has a very important significance for the overall development of students and the construction of ideological and political education. With the growth and change of social economy’s diversification and the college students’thinking way, the campus culture with unique and rich meaning gets more and more attention; it has a profound and lasting impact in students’ ideology, behavior and the way of life. Therefore, to study the ideological and political education’s function of college campus culture is not only the need to improve the effectiveness of the ideological and political education, but also the sustainable development of education in college. This paper analyzes and expounds the ideological and political education’s function of campus culture from the perspective of strengthening campus culture and the ideological and political education of college students in universities, then further explores how to make full use of these functions.This paper is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction, briefly discusses the research background, significance of the topic, current research status, and research methods. The second part is the definition of the concept, explains the relevant concepts about culture, campus culture, ideological and political education, and then analyzes the relationship between campus culture and the ideological and political education. The third part expounds the function of college campus culture, according to new changes in the social environment. In this thesis, the function is divided into three categories, respectively is the education function, social function and emotional function. The fourth part mainly discusses the problems and reasons existing in the working process of the ideological and political education’s function in colleges. The fifth part puts forward measures to strengthen and improve the college campus culture, and effectively play the function, as well as provide a powerful guarantee for the work of Ideological and political education.
