Activity design is one of the features of new ideological and political materials. Carrying on the thorough research will perform an important function course teaching and it also could enhance the high school students’ideological and political quality. Based on the high school ideological and political materials required four "life and philosophy", the study analyzes the number, type, function, characteristics, limitations of activities in the teaching material, and puts forward measures to overcome the limitation of activity design, what’s more, analyzes the enlightenment to the teaching from the activity design.This study is divided into three parts. The first part is to define the meaning about the design of activities. The activity design refers to the dotted line frame to imitation Song-Dynasty-style typeface in the teaching material, and "comprehensive inquiry" after each unit. Based on this, it expounds theory basis and realistic basis of the design of activities.The second part analyzes activities design from the number, type, function and so on. This research adopts the quantitative analysis. according to different standards, activity design can be divided into8types:stories type, the experience type, the understanding of classical statements, example and illustration type, view analysis type, case and data analysis type, and the guide exploration of scientific knowledge. According to the survey in four different levels of high schools, the author makes a detailed analysis of the function, specific characteristics and limitations in the activity design of the textbooks. Activity design’s characteristics are as follows:to introduce the new lesson, to develop students’thinking ability, to connect theory with practice and to consolidate and deepen the knowledge, to guide student’s life, to pay attention to the generative knowledge, to pay more attention to the emotional attitudes and the achievement of value goal. However, activity design is still have some problems. The matters is that active material is single, lacking compelling story emotional elements, the ways of activities are lacking of flexibility, diversity and operability, etc.the third part is to analyze the activity design’s enlightenment to teaching, the author ummarizes the enlightenment of four aspects:first, attaches great importance to the activities of design; second, creative use of activity design; third, give prominence to students’main body status; fourth, improve the activity’s design. the enlightenment in this part is the summary of activity design’s amount, function, characteristics and limitations.
