Information Technology Education (ITE) is a new platform for education reform. Design and development of ITE Textbook is helpful for building a new style textbook and curriculum system, promoting the reform of educational mechanism, education administration system and educational facility&environment frame. Based on the textbook of "Information Technology", co-edited by Education Technology Institution of South China Normal University and Bureau of Education Technology in Shenzhen city, the paper explores the designing of "Information Technology" textbook. The study was divided into 5 parts.1. Through the analysis of research status, the study Classified the category of "Information Technology" textbook, and the instructional goals of ITE. With the Literature analysis, the paper concluded several points in textbook design: Textbook shall be usage-oriented, and the organization of content shall be based on the principles: use the actual examples as main clues for learning activity process; how to guide the students plan, design, produce and evaluate the production is the key principles to design textbook for students in Junior middle school; the learning content and learning style shall be multi-level; the teaching content shall emphasize the cultivation of humanity. Based on the research above, the paper put forward to the idea of information technology textbook based on learning activity designing.2. The paper makes an exposition of the theory basis of "information technology" textbook which is based on learning activity: the view of Constructivism, the instructional design theory based on learning activity and the model of textbook design. With the conclusion above, the paper promoted a design process of "information technology" textbook based on learning activity.3. Based on the editing process of "IT" textbook for Shenzhen city, the paper describes the designing process of "IT" textbook based on learning activity, which concludes the design of examples, Decomposition of learning goals for every chapter and how to select learning content with mind map. The paper also detailed describes the learning activity forms and designing. For the evaluation and feedback of textbook application, the methods of interviews and survey are used to collect related data.Finally, the paper concludes the fruits and innovations of the study:1. Theoretically, it put forward to textbook designing process, which is guided by the instructional design theory of learning activity, and produced a concrete designing process.2. Practically, we developed "IT" textbook for junior middle school students in Shenzhen city, which oriented towards the needs of Shenzhen city. The textbook has been published by People Education Press, and has been adopted by Shenzhen city.
