The new curriculum reform of Inner Mongolia has been wholly carried out since2009from grade one of senior middle schools. And it can be seen that the teaching materials chosen in the new text book have a close relationship with people’s everyday life. One of the basic ideas of the new curriculum reform is that teaching should be connected to people’s real life and return to the society. That is to say, the purpose of education is not only to teach knowledge and cultivate the students’ competence, but also to pay more attention to the cultivation of every students’ life awareness. By focusing on the real life around us, the students can broaden experience and improve qualities, which is very useful for them to adapt to the developing of society and live harmoniously.Just as the new curriculum reform requires, the author studies the necessity and importance of life-oriented teaching. After making use of life teaching, the author also finds out the students’ experience broadened, qualities improved, humanistic feelings elevated and their interest of learning politics in senior middle school greatly changed. Therefore, the study shows that life-oriented teaching can make the previous politics class more lively and full of humanistic feelings, which can make great contribution to the teaching of politics in senior middle school. In a word, life-oriented teaching strategy is really useful for the new curriculum reform and should be fully applied into other future teaching activities.
