As the new curriculum reform stress the improvement of the physiological and mental state of students and emphasizes students’ major role in the curriculum, people begin to research the application of Learning-plan teaching in the practice of history teaching. Learning-plan differs from Teaching-plan in that the main user is the student while the teacher simply provides necessary guidance. A Learning-plan is a school-based curriculum drawn up by the teacher in accordance with the curriculum standards, text books, resources for learning, and the practical situation of students (their philosophical characters, original performance and capacity for new knowledge, etc.). It insists on developing the spirit of creation as well as the learning ability of students, and is the medium between learning and teaching.With the aid of learning-plan, this new pattern of teaching can encourage students to learn actively, and develop their capability of creation and learning. In most cases, teachers will act simply as a regulator.This thesis is divided into four parts. The foreword introduces the background and significance of the subject and reviews the literature on Learning-plan teaching; the first chapter discusses the basic conception of Learning-plan teaching and analyzes its feasibility; the second chapter depicts the practical application of Learning-plan teaching in the lesson-The Victory of the October Revolution of Russia; the third chapter is the author’s view on Learning-plan teaching. The thesis researches the conception of Learning-plan, the principles upon which the plan is enacted, and the application of Learning-plan teaching. It relies on the author’s teaching practice and a questionnaire survey among his students to test the effect of Learning-plan teaching. In the end the author attempts to offer some suggestions on Learning-plan teaching and the choice of teaching methods.
