Paying attention to cultivating students’ thinking ability in mathematics is mathematics new curriculum orientation;training with good thinking ability of high school students is our pursuit of mathematics teaching. But, what is the ability of mathematics thinking, mathematics activities in what capacity is the ability of mathematical thinking? What are the dimensions of thinking ability in mathematics? How realistic representations of mathematical thinking ability of the students in high school? This a series of problems, are worthy of our consideration. In order to investigate the above problems, based on the theoretical analysis of mathematical thinking, mathematical thinking ability, self-developed a set of questions, students in senior high school in two schools were tested, to understand the current status of mathematical thinking ability of senior high school students, and put forward the author’s suggestion.In addition to the introduction, this paper is divided into four parts.In the introduction part, the author firstly introduces the reason of choosing problems in this research, practical research. Then, in order of timewere summarized and evaluated the historical process of relevant research at home and abroad, and the research methods were summarized. In the last part of the introduction, the author puts forward the content and ideas of this paper.The first chapter is the first part of this thesis, theoretical analysis. In this chapter, the author introduces some domestic scholars understanding of mathematical thinking, mathematical thinking ability, in their definitions on the basis of comparison the author defines what is the ability of mathematical thinking, mathematical thinking ability dimension.The second chapter is empirical research, is the second part of the paper. In this part, the author firstly introduces the survey test purpose, method, way and procedure, and with the previous first parts of the theory analysis, the questionnaire test planning, setting, and to carry out investigation and study. Subsequently, the results of the empirical study are presented and analyzed, finally gives the conclusion and suggestion.The third chapter is the study of evaluation, is the third part of the paper. In this part, the author combines the four dimensions of thinking ability in mathematics, this empirical study of evaluation was made, the status of mathematical thinking in senior high school students are outlined.The fourth chapter is the research suggests, is the fourth part of the paper. In this part, the author gives the enlightenment and suggestions in this empirical research.
