With the change of college employment obtaining institution and college expansion, the Scale of college graduates expand continuously. The employment of university graduates is increasingly difficult. College students employment difficult to become the focus of the government and the society, the problem of university students’ employment for higher education research in the field of research. Macro-analysis involves economic development, employment market conditions, training mode of colleges and universities, the factor of higher education system; Micro-analysis involves the employment concept of undergraduate, the correlation between human capital and college students employment. This paper is an endeavor to study the process of the job search process of college graduates, using the theoretical perspective of social capital which focuses on the accessible resource embedded in one’s social network. I distinguish the different effect of possessed social capital and used social capital in one’s job search process. The former refers to the total amount of embedded network resources, while the later refers to the social capital actually used when one was trying to get a job. Different from previous studies, the focus of this paper is how social capital is used in one’s job search process using qualitative research method.The introduction chapter describes the background, the literature review, the purpose and significance of research and the innovation. The first chapter describes the definition of conception and theory background, research ideas, research framework and study method. The second chapter describes the attitudes of social capital. In chapter3, I analyzed the premise and conditions of social capital mobilization. In chapter4, I analyzed the role of the strength of ties and the intermediary’s location when one was trying to get a job. The fifth chapter of the analysis tries to make a conclusion:(1) social capital is highly recognized by college graduates (2)the premise and conditions of mobilizing social capital: quantity and quality of social capital、information needs、the relative disadvantage of human capital、security needs and space for the mobilization of social capital;(3) Strong ties, location and economic capital play an important role when one was trying to get a job. In addition, I also discussed the rationality of mobilizing social capital and make an introspection of this study.
