This research is a basic study on the empirical level of the field of "Social capital and status attainment".This classic research topic contains a wealth of analysis results,they focus on the core content of the "job-seeker occupational attainment process",and it draws a systematic research conclusion.In the field of this topic,however,some problems are lacking in previous researches need to be considered in depth: if the jobseeker choose to use an informal way that others' assistance to get the job,the decision made by the Contacts would be the important part of the source of social capital,and it would put an effect on the result and “A Theory of Social Capital”,the strength of ties would influence their decision-making and what others factors would be effectiveness.Based on the Social Capital Theory and Social Exchange Theory,from the perspective of the Contacts' characteristics,this paper puts forward four research hypothesis:(1)Hypothesis 1a:good reputation as a guarantee of moral level of the actors would make a positive effect on the Contacts;(2)Hypothesis 1b: the higher human capital would put a competitive actors into the career surrounding,so as to produce positive influence on decision-making of the Contacts;(3)Hypothesis 2:the stronger strength of ties between actors and Contacts,the more niche targeting thought would have,so as to make influence on decision-making of the Contacts;(4)Hypothesis 3: if the Contacts create the sense of satisfaction and power,they tend to provide assistants for the actors.Base on the above hypothesis and verifies it by qualitative research method,this paper gets 17 answers and about three hundred minutes of interview materials.Further analysis shows:(1)The strong ties between the actors and the Contacts is the important factor to influence the relationship to make resources to help decision-making,the stronger the ties,the more inclined and helpful;(2)Human capital is the hidden factor that influences the decision-making of the Contacts.It is affected by the perfection of the labor market environment and it has liquidity characteristics;(3)The good reputation of the actors' individual and its primary group has a positive impact on the Contacts' job-seeking help;(4)The Contacts access to the social network's trust,group identity and psychological satisfaction is more inclined help the actors.Hypothesis 2 is validated,hypothesis 1a,hypothesis 1b,and hypothesis 3 are partially verified after material analysis,and some conclusions are obtained based on the null hypothesis.This paper proposed the hypotheses and use individual cases of Qualitative Research Methods to test the hypothesis and discuss the Contacts' decision-making when requesting.This research desire to contribute to the completeness of the traditional research topic.
