With the rapid development of society, the public’s demand for high qualityeducation has become more and more strong. In order to improve education quality,The Education sector should make effort to improve evaluation system and optimizethe teaching staff, which is proposed by National medium and long-term educationreform and development plan outline (2010-2020).Besides, Shanghai educationsupervision work points in2012also emphasizes the teaching evaluation. Those filesindicate that people pay more attention on teaching quality, which is mainly effectedby teachers because they are the direct performers of teaching. As mentors forteachers, the teaching supervisors play an important role in teaching. From theperspective of teaching supervisor, the thesis compares the differences and commonpoints between supervision organization,supervisor and supervision process, hopingto get clues to develop our education quality.The thesis consists of five parts:The first part is preface. In this part, I introduce the background, significance ofmy task and research methods at first, then I interpret the meaning of basicconcepts.The second part is the research of teaching evaluation in Shanghai. I clarify it inthe following three aspects: the evaluation organization and responsibilities, theclarification and training of supervisor and the evaluation process.The third part is the research of teaching evaluation in New York. I also clarify itin the following three aspects: the evaluation organization and responsibilities, theclarification and training of supervisor and the evaluation process.The forth part is comparing and analyzing the differences in teaching evaluationbetween Shanghai and New York.The fifth part is enlightenment and revelations from the compare.
